Through my practice of photography, video, and collage, I work with archival materials to consider formal and conceptual components of still and moving images. I seek to make visible, often invisible aspects of experience, and identity. I’m interested in the politics fixed in materials that are classified as archival and recall a certain history. Often, exposing the mechanics of representation associated with archival records produces a tension that undermines the authority of an image.
